Entry requirements

2:1 or above (or its international equivalent). Your degree can be in any discipline but you must have studied a subject with high quantitative content. You will be better suited to this course if you have studied business or management, or studied a subject with high quantitative content, such as:

  • mathematics/statistics
  • computer science
  • engineering
  • physics
  • a quantitative social science

Programming experience
Previous experience of computer programming is an advantage. You should include information about your quantitative and programming experience in your personal statement.

Work experience
In exceptional cases, relevant work experience may be a substitute for the degree requirement. You should have no more than three years’ relevant work experience.

Course content

Develop a strong understanding of business analytics and learn how to turn data into meaningful insights. This course prepares you for careers in data analysis, business intelligence and decision support across a range of industries.

You’ll gain practical experience working with real data and using the latest business intelligence software. Teaching includes contributions from industry experts, with a unit co‑delivered by a specialist from IBM. The course is also supported by partners including IBM, Qlik, WinPure and the Women in OR & Analytics Network.
